I’m a Health Services Research and Evaluation Scientist who translates patient, provider, and caregiver experience into actionable quality improvement and health system change. My background spans mixed-methods and qualitative research, health systems mapping, program management, intervention development, and implementation science.
My goal is to improve the systems that shape people’s care — not just study them. I lead mixed-methods, participatory, and evaluation-focused projects that turn stakeholder experience into real healthcare delivery interventions, working at the patient, provider, and systems levels to identify and remove barriers to care. My research interests bridge education, health disparities, and public policy, and I’ve conducted fieldwork in China, Germany, and the United States.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve focused on improving care delivery for vulnerable and underserved populations — including religious and ethnic minorities, Veterans, nursing home residents, and patients with complex chronic conditions — always grounded in direct stakeholder engagement.
I currently lead the research and quality improvement programs of infectious disease physician Dr. Christopher Crnich at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the William S. Middleton VA, direct my own research on barriers to care for patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), and mentor graduate students in UW-Madison’s MPH program.
